・Burmese jade
Since ancient times, jade has been valued as a magical stone and a sacred stone in various parts of the world. Jade has "hard ball" and "nephrite". Genuine jade refers to jadeite, which is rare as it is commercially mined only in Burma (Myanmar). It is said to have the power to ward off evil and evil spirits, and has been favored as a talisman for health and longevity.
This Juzu is a Jodo-shu’s formal style one.
In Japan, Buddhists have Prayer beads (Juzu, Nenju). Kyoto is famous as a producing center of Prayer beads.
Prayer beads are a traditional tool used to count the number of times a mantra is recited, breaths while meditating, counting prostrations, or the repetitions of a buddha's name.
