About Lepidolite

Lepidolite is a type of mica that contains lithium and manganese. Its color can range from pink to a beautiful lavender or even white, depending on the quantity of these inclusions. As a result, no two pieces look exactly alike—offering the unique, special appeal of owning a stone that is truly one of a kind.

Lepidolite is relatively soft compared to many other natural stones. As it is prone to scratching, it is recommended to wrap each piece individually in a soft cloth for storage.

Furthermore, because of its layered structure, it is vulnerable to impact from certain directions and possesses a property known as "cleavage," which makes it susceptible to cracking or flaking. When cleaning the stone, avoid rubbing it vigorously; instead, wipe it gently.

In Japan, Buddhists have Prayer beads (Juzu, Nenju). Kyoto is famous as a producing center of Prayer beads.
