About Turquoise
Turquoise is one of the oldest healing stones in history, it was one of the first gemstones to ever be mined and dates back to 6000 BC in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. The ancient Egyptians would bury their loved ones with Turquoise and it was widely used from other civilizations in Persia. In Mexico, the Aztecs often used turquoise to handcraft refined masks. Turquoise also stands as a symbol of Native American culture as it was often used for amulets, talismans, pendants, rings, bracelets, and even belt buckles.
As a healing stone, it is believed to bring serenity and peace. It is ideal for those experiencing burnt outs or stress by enhancing courage, strength, and calmness of mind. It is a stone of communication, both with others and with our selves.
In Japan, Buddhists have Prayer beads (Juzu, Nenju). Kyoto is a famous producing center of Prayer beads.
