The abstract beauty of Noh as expressed on the stage and its rigorous Noh costumes are reproduced with dolls. This is a beautiful doll in the form of a celestial being from "Hagoromo," one of the most famous Noh pieces.

Summary of story  "Hagoromo"
One spring morning, Hakuryu, a fisherman living in Miho no Matsubara, goes fishing with his friends and finds a beautiful robe hanging on a pine branch. As Hakuryu is about to take it home as a family heirloom, a heavenly maiden appears and asks him to return the robe. At first, Hakuryu refuses to return it, but is moved by the sight of the heavenly maiden lamenting, "I can't return to heaven without it," and decides to return the robe in exchange for seeing her dance.

The heavenly maiden wearing the robe performs a dance depicting the moon palace, and continues to dance while praising the springtime Miho no Matsubara, before soaring into the distance towards Mount Fuji and disappearing into the mist.
