About the Nichiren Sect
The Nichiren Sect is a school of Japanese Buddhism founded by Saint Nichiren in the mid-Kamakura period (1253). It regards the *Lotus Sutra*—the essence of Shakyamuni Buddha's teachings—as supreme, and teaches that anyone can equally attain Buddhahood by chanting the *daimoku*: "Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō."

About India Bodhi Tree Wood
India Bodhi Tree Wood is considered exceptional among materials for prayer beads, being extremely lightweight and characterized by its intricate and beautiful patterns. It is the highest quality material among all Bodhi trees. It has long been said to bestow merit. The more you use it, the more lustrous it becomes and the color changes to an amber hue.

About Pressed Amber
Pressed amber (also known as "ambroid") is created by collecting small fragments or powder of natural amber, then heating and pressurizing the material until it melts and can be reshaped into a single, solid piece. One of its key characteristics is that, once pressed and hardened, it becomes more resistant to damage, making it convenient for everyday wear.

In Japan, Buddhists use prayer beads (Juzu, Nenju). Kyoto is famous as a center for prayer bead production.
