About ebony

Ebony is a type of wood that comes from the ebony tree, from the Diospyros variety. Ebony trees are large, some growing over one hundred feet tall. They grow mostly in the tropical regions of the world, in particular in Africa and Asia.

The wood is derived from the heartwood of the tree, it is well known for its distinctive features, such as the dark color, density, and hardness, making it highly durable, and the fine, smooth texture which allows it to be ideal for carving and turning, and its aromatic pleasant perfume when freshly cut
