About Chinese Jade

Chinese jade refers to the jade mined or carved in China from the Neolithic onward. It has long been prized by the Chinese who called it "The heavenly gem", Confucius himself thought it was the representation of kindness, wisdom, truth, and a metaphor of music. At the beginning of the imperial era, jade was exclusive to the Emperor and his family. 

In Japan, Buddhists use Prayer beads (Juzu, Nenju). Kyoto is a famous producing center of Prayer beads.

Prayer beads are a traditional tool used to count the number of times a mantra is recited, breaths while meditating, count prostrations, or the repetitions of a Buddha's name.
